Job Purpose

The Site Operations Manager is responsible for standing up and maintaining the additive print shop and assembly manufacturing operations for the Hyliion site in Cedar Park, TX. The Site Operations Manager will lead the transition to high quality, efficient and safe production operations for our TX site. Additionally, this manager will collaborate with the engineering team to incorporate design changes and lead innovations on parameter and process control to drive production improvements. This position is a key role on the Industrialization team and will report to the Chief Strategy Officer.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Industrialization team to establish process flow for additive manufacturing, post processing, and engine and genset assembly operations.
  • Manage daily operations with team of machine technicians.
  • Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration and communication.
  • Interact with engineering and TX facilities team whenever prototyping or testing requires new processes or facility upgrades.
  • Arrange for regular maintenance of manufacturing equipment including additive printers, assembly fixtures, tools (e.g., torque drivers), and test cell.
  • Establish and track production and materials plan for TX site.
  • Develop and monitor related budgets and expenditures.
  • Establish and maintain 5S standard throughout the shop.
  • Work with Facilities and EHS manager to champion safety, help ensure utilization of proper safety gear and adherence to safety protocols and processes, and work with engineers and EHS to ensure “Lock Out Tag Out” (LOTO) procedures are followed for high voltage equipment.
  • Remove hazardous materials from all areas accessible to employees and guests.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving for the site.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.

 

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Certification

  • Associate’s degree in Engineering, Operations or Facilities Management, or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations or Facilities Management, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in related field, preferably additive manufacturing.

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to perform at high energy fast pace, with self-motivation and strong
  • Creativity to overcome hurdles and ability to constructively raise issues for broader collaboration and resolution.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills, and experience in working with all levels of employees.
  • Strong analytical and problem
  • Strong organizational, leadership, time management and team motivation skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and to communicate roadblocks promptly to management within a fast-paced environment where project/team priorities may shift.
  • Ability to travel, up to 25%.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
